US President Joe Biden has announced a new ban on offshore oil and gas drilling from the East and West coasts, eastern Gulf of Mexico and portions of Alaska’s Northern Bering Sea from future oil and natural gas leasing. This is the first time since 1990 that offshore drilling will not be allowed off the coast of the US.
