The Three mile Island nuclear plant is going to power Microsoft’s data centers
Microsoft has signed a deal with Constellation Energy to buy nuclear power for data centre operations in the US. The agreement will allow Microsoft to run its data centers on “clean, carbon-free energy”. The company’s data centres, which are used for cloud computing and artificial intelligence programs, will be able to run again after the restart of the Three Mile Island power plant.

Companies that invest heavily in responsible AI research are likely to have a “race to the bottom” in generative AI, according to a study published in the Nature. The study found that large AI companies didn’t have incentives to apply it as they wanted open access for their models. Users will also be able to teach Copilot the specific topics and people that are important to them later this year, Microsoft said.

An American restaurant named Shuggie in Seattle, Washington has been able to use leftover food from its restaurant and grocery store as ingredients to make a “leftovers-recipes-food-waste-climate-change” campaign. More than a million tons of food waste was generated by the restaurant industry in 2022, according to research by the US Department of Agriculture.
