The Chicago Tribune, which is owned by Alden Global Capital, has filed a lawsuit against AI firm OpenAI and Microsoft’s artificial intelligence (AI) platform ChatGPT, accusing it of reproducing news articles without permission. The lawsuit alleged that ChatGPT at times falsely attributes reporting to newspapers in the answers it generates, tarnishing the reputation of the news outlets.

Sam Bankman-Fried, the CEO of FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange in the US, was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Friday for violating sanctions against Iran. FTX’s parent company Binance allowed sanctions violations of over $898 million and “violated US law on an unprecedented scale”, the US government said. Prosecutors asked the judge to sentence him to three years in prison.

Apple on Tuesday unveiled its fifth-generation Beats wireless headphones, which can be paired with Apple’s iOS or Android device. The new headphones will come in USB-C and 3.5mm styles and will run on Apple’s own iOS and Google’s Android operating systems. They’ll also include a voice-based assistant called ‘Apple Voice’, which will enable users to answer questions or control their devices through the app.

Google had fired 28 workers for participating in protests against Project Nimbus.

Automattic Founder and CEO Matt Mullenweg has said Beeper, which was acquired by WordPress and Tumblr, will remain as a stand-alone company. Brazil’s Supreme Court judge opened an investigation into Musk
Brazil’s Justice Minister Alexandre de Moraes has called for Tesla CEO Elon Musk to be impeached for blocking his account on the social media platform. “The flagrant conduct of obstruction of Brazilian justice, incitement of crime…the public threat of disobedience of court orders and future lack of cooperation from the platform are facts that disrespect the sovereignty of Brazil,” Moraes said.
