The Prop 22 gig worker battle has been won by the companies

California Supreme Court has allowed app-based companies to treat their drivers as independent contractors despite a ruling by the state’s lower court that said they should be treated as employees. This comes after Proposition 22, a ballot measure in 2020 which required app-based companies to establish a Wage Floor and pay health care stipends to workers who drive enough hours.
