It added that it will look into the issue and “take appropriate action”. Amazon Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos has said he will protect his newspaper Washington Post from being threatened while it pursues its free market crusade.

World’s richest person Jeff Bezos, in a memo to Post staff, asked them to not write about personal liberty or free markets for now. He added that the newspaper will be “a place of freedom of the press”. This comes after Bezos ordered Post journalists not to write on topics related to his personal life, including Amazon and his wife MacKenzie Bezos.

The Washington Post’s former Editor David Hoffman has announced he is quitting the newspaper’s editorial board, days after Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos refused to endorse Democratic US presidential nominee Kamala Harris. Hoffman wrote, “For decades, the Washington Post’s editorials have been… beacon of light, signaling hope to dissidents, political prisoners and…voiceless.” He added, “I was never part of any conspiracy. I’m sorry.”
FTC chair Lina Khan’s lawsuit is not related to breaking up Amazon
The US’ Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has filed a lawsuit against Jeff Bezos-led Amazon, accusing the e-commerce company of using “unfair and illegal” tactics to maintain its power. The FTC accused Amazon of using unfair practices to keep competitors away from its website. Amazon said the complaint was “wrong” on the facts and that the company has “vigorously defended” itself against it.
