Auto workers are asking for a 40% pay raise

The United Auto Workers (UAW) and Detroit’s Big 3 automakers have not yet reached a deal with less than 24 hours left until the current strikes end. Jim Farley, CEO of General Motors said that his company had presented four increasingly generous offers without a counter proposal from the union. Ford responded to UAW’s pay raise proposal in an August 3 statement.
