Key Bridge

The legal battle is about who will pay to replace the Key Bridge

The Dali’s owner is trying to cap its liability to the present value of the ship and its cargo, which it estimates at around $43 million. This comes as US Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigators focus on the ship’s electrical system and circuit breakers. The Dali had collided with the Key Bridge in April, causing a section of the bridge to collapse.

Port jobs are at risk following Baltimore disaster

The key bridge that collapsed in Baltimore, Maryland in the US, was built in the 1970s but only one of the three toll bridges in Baltimore’s Harbor is not a tunnel. Baltimore’s Key Bridge was built in 1974 but had a deep and patriotic history, witnessing British bombardment of Fort McHenry, according to NPR. About $80 billion worth of cargo goes through the port each year.
