The minimum wage law in Minneapolis is a hot topic for ride-sharing companies

The Minneapolis City Council has voted to stop ride-hail firms including Uber and Lyft from operating in the city. The vote came after Mayor Jacob Frey vetoed an ordinance that guaranteed drivers minimum wage of $1.40 per mile and 51 cents per minute while carrying a rider. Uber said it’s disappointed the council chose to ignore data and “kick Uber out of the Twin Cities”.
