The problem of global science is becoming more pronounced

China has a share-to-count ratio of over 80%, meaning there would be international collaboration in the foreseeable future. However, Caroline Wagner, an expert in international scientific collaboration at the Ohio State University, said that face-to-face meetings are still crucial for bringing researchers together in the first place. She added that research she did showed that 85% of international collaborations begin face-to-face.
