The ‘Washington Post’ won’t support a presidential candidate
The Washington Post’s former Editor David Hoffman has announced he is quitting the newspaper’s editorial board, days after Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos refused to endorse Democratic US presidential nominee Kamala Harris. Hoffman wrote, “For decades, the Washington Post’s editorials have been… beacon of light, signaling hope to dissidents, political prisoners and…voiceless.” He added, “I was never part of any conspiracy. I’m sorry.”
It was not the first time the publisher attempted to kill a story
The Washington Post’s CEO Michael Lewis, who is being sued by Rupert Murdoch’s newspapers over his alleged role in deleting emails, had offered to give me an exclusive interview as long as I dropped a story about the allegations, Reuters said citing unnamed sources. Lewis did not block the story from running, Reuters added. Lewis denied the allegations.
