Anthropic, Apple, and other companies used videos to train their employees
A dataset containing over 170,000 YouTube videos was used to train AI systems for over 50 technology companies, according to an investigation by Proof News. The training dataset is a collection of subtitles taken from YouTube videos belonging to over 48,000 channels. Some of the videos found by Proof News were taken by MrBeast, Jacksepticeye and PewDiePie.
Police arrested a couple of workers for protesting a contract with Israel
A former YouTube software engineer who was arrested for participating in a sit-in against the Project Nimbus contract between Amazon and Israel has said, “We were arrested for 10 hours.” Zelda Montes said she was arrested on November 19 after occupying Google’s New York office for more than 10 hours. Google had fired 28 workers for participating in protests against Project Nimbus.
