The European Commission has said that it’s “preliminary view” that Microsoft has breached EU antitrust rules with its tie-up of teams with its productivity applications in Office 365 and Windows 365. It could potentially face a fine of 10% of Microsoft’s annual worldwide turnover if it is found guilty of antitrust violations. If found guilty, the firm could face a fine of up to 6 billion.

US Record Labels are accusing Suno and Udio of violating Copyright Act

Suno CEO Mikey Shulman said that the AI-powered music streaming platform’s technology is “transformative and designed to generate completely new outputs, not to memorize and memorise previous content”. Shulman added that Suno doesn’t allow user prompts based on specific artists. Earlier this month, Sony Music had sent letters to tech companies warning them of “unauthorized” use of copyrighted work.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday said the two countries share an interest in developing a reliable security architecture in the Asia-Pacific region with no room for closed military-political blocs. Following his meeting with Vietnam’s President Tran Dai Quang in Hanoi, Putin said the two countries have a relationship dating back to the early 20th century.

Google’s Project Zero researcher James Forshaw discovered a method for accessing Recall data without administrator privileges, which cybersecurity strategist and ethical hacker Alex Hagenah called “mindblowing”. Hagenah had recently built a Proof-of-Concept tool to show that someone who gained access to a victim’s machine with Recall could immediately siphon out all their history recorded by the feature.
